Why work with ELM?

Real world experience paired with simplistic and effective solutions

I didn’t start ELM Consulting because I wanted to become a “business coach.” I started it because, after years of working inside real businesses, I kept seeing the same thing over and over again: good companies, good employees, and hardworking owners getting buried under messy systems, unclear roles, hiring problems, and too much depending on one person.

My background is a mix of sales, operations, HR, recruiting, manufacturing, and the trades. I’ve been responsible for everything from hiring and onboarding to scheduling, workflow, production, employee development, customer relationships, and putting out whatever fire came up that day.

Because I’ve worked inside those environments, I understand that most business problems are rarely just a “people problem” or a “process problem.” Usually, the two are connected. That experience is what eventually led me to consulting, and it’s also why working with ELM looks a little different.

Today, I work primarily with small businesses—especially trades and service companies—to help them build stronger teams, clearer processes, and systems that actually work in the real world. Sometimes that means recruiting the right person. Sometimes it means rewriting roles, creating SOPs, fixing a broken workflow, improving accountability, or helping an owner finally stop being the answer to every question in the company.

When you work with me, you’re not getting a generic playbook or a 75-page binder that looks impressive and collects dust. I want to understand how your business actually operates, what your employees are dealing with, where things are getting stuck, and what will realistically make life easier for everyone involved.

I also believe strongly that efficiency and people-first leadership are not opposites. You can run a tighter, more accountable business without treating employees like numbers. In fact, the best systems usually make work better for the people doing it.

ELM stands for Learn. Discover. Grow. That’s also how I approach every business I work with: learn how it really works, discover what’s holding it back, and build what it needs to grow.
